The Empire State Building is a 102-story Art Deco skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. The building stands 1,454 feet (443 m) tall and was designed by architects Shreve, Lamb&Harmon, and constructed from 1930 to 1931. Its name is derived from the nickname for New York, the Empire State. The Empire State Building has been named as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
