The sugar glider is a small, omnivorous arboreal marsupial native to Australia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Its small size and enjoy a diet of insects and fruit, which makes them a favorite among exotic pet owners. In the wild, sugar gliders are active during the night and will glide from tree to tree using their patagium, skin flaps running along the sides of their bodies, allowing it to fly.
