Michael Vick is a now retired professional American football quarterback who played 13 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), primarily with the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles. He was the runner-up for the NFL MVP award in 2010, and was named to three Pro Bowls. He was selected first overall by the Falcons in the 2001 NFL Draft, becoming the first African American quarterback to be taken first overall. During his six years with the Falcons, Vick was regarded as having transformed the quarterback position with his rushing abilities and was named to three Pro Bowls. He led the Falcons to the NFC Championship in 2004 and eventually to the franchise's first ever Super Bowl appearance.
