Process up to 200 images per job — pick your settings once, run them all.
Apply a clean, even Gaussian blur to all or part of your image. Adjustable radius from 1 (subtle) to 50 (heavily blurred). Use it for hiding sensitive information, creating background blur, blurring faces in group photos, or pre-processing for design assets.
Gaussian vs other blur types
Gaussian blur is the standard "soft, even" blur — pixels are averaged with a bell-curve weight on their neighbours. Soft, natural-looking, no streaking. Other blurs serve different purposes:
- Motion blur: directional streaking, simulating movement. Use Motion Blur.
- Background blur (depth-of-field): blur only the background while keeping the subject sharp. Use Background Blurring.
- Box blur: faster, blockier — rarely the right choice today.
Common uses
- Privacy / redaction. Blur faces, license plates, sensitive text.
- UI design. Blurred background images behind text overlays.
- Banner backgrounds. Blur a hero photo for use behind text.
- Pre-process for AI. Some inputs benefit from a slight blur before further processing.
Selective vs full-image blur
Default blurs the whole image. Premium accounts can paint a mask to blur only specific regions — useful for face redaction without blurring the whole composition.
Quality and edges
Heavy blurring can show banding artefacts on JPEG-saved blurs. We add a tiny amount of noise to avoid this. PNG output is always cleaner for heavy blurs.
