AI Photo Enhancer

Free, Auto Restore, One Click

One-click full restoration — color, exposure, sharpness, all auto-fixed.

Drop an image or click to upload

Free to try.

The Lightroom "Auto" button, free, online, no software install. Drop a photo that looks slightly off — too dark, washed-out colours, soft focus, mild grain — and get back a clean version in 5–10 seconds. The AI was trained on millions of photos that professional editors had already fixed, so it knows what "good" looks like for almost any subject.

What the photo enhancer fixes

The model runs five passes in one click:

  • Exposure correction — recovers detail in over-exposed highlights and lifts under-exposed shadows.
  • White balance — neutralises orange tinges from indoor lighting and blue tinges from shade.
  • Colour grade — bumps saturation on flat-looking shots, calms it down on over-saturated ones.
  • Sharpness — applies subject-aware sharpening that brings out detail without amplifying noise.
  • Noise reduction — removes the speckle from low-light high-ISO shots without smearing detail.

This is one of our AI tools (10 credits per call), so the daily quota is lower than the lightweight conversion tools. Anonymous visitors get 1 free try per day; signed-in users get 1 per day too (the cost is in compute, not gating); Premium gets 15 per day, which covers most photo-album-style use cases.

What it works on, and what it doesn't

The model is general-purpose, trained across portrait, landscape, product, food, and event photography. It works well on photos taken in poor lighting, mildly out-of-focus shots, photos with colour casts, and photos that need a small bump in vibrancy. It's particularly good on phone photos taken indoors at night.

It's NOT a magic bullet. Severely blurry shots (motion blur, deep out-of-focus) need our AI Sharpener first. Very low-resolution photos benefit from our AI Upscaler before enhancing. Faces with poor detail (e.g. small in a group shot) get better results from the Face Enhancer as a follow-up. For old scanned photos with physical damage, use the Old Photo Restorer.

How it compares to manual editing

A skilled editor with Lightroom or Capture One can usually beat the AI on any single image — they understand context, intent, and aesthetic preference. The AI's edge is consistency at scale. If you have 100 photos to clean up before publishing, the AI does each in 8 seconds and produces output that's 90% as good as a manual pass would be. For one hero image where you want perfect, do it by hand. For everything else, AI saves hours.

The output is always a JPG at quality 85 (visually indistinguishable from the source for any normal viewing). Premium users can request the output in PNG or quality 100 JPG.

Tips for the best result

Start with a clean source file — if you've already heavily-compressed the JPG and re-saved it multiple times, the AI is fighting JPEG artifacts on top of fixing the actual issue. Use the original from your camera or phone if possible.

Don't over-process. Running the same image through the enhancer repeatedly compounds the AI's tendency to push contrast and saturation. One pass is almost always enough.

For specific fixes — single-axis exposure correction, just sharpening, just denoising — use the dedicated tools (Exposure Fix, Sharpen, Denoise) instead of the all-in-one enhancer.

Frequently asked questions

Is the result always better?

Almost always for typical phone photos. Occasionally the AI's choices won't match your aesthetic — e.g. it might warm up a shot that you intentionally shot cool. The original is preserved; just don't use the result if you don't like it.

How long does processing take?

5–10 seconds per image including GPU queue time. Faster at off-peak hours.

Does it work on RAW files?

No — JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC inputs only. RAW workflows are for serious editors who'll do their own processing in Lightroom or Capture One.

Can I undo or adjust the result?

The output is a finished JPG, not a layered file. The original is untouched. If you want fine control, use the dedicated single-purpose tools instead of the all-in-one enhancer.

Is it free?

1 free try per day anonymously, 1 per day signed in (it's expensive to run), 15 per day on Premium.

What about faces in group shots?

Run through the AI Photo Enhancer first, then the Face Enhancer as a second pass for the best face detail.

Will it preserve EXIF data?

Yes — date, GPS, camera details all carry over. Strip them with our EXIF Stripper if needed.

Can I batch enhance?

Not on the free tier. Premium users can chain calls via the API; self-serve batch is on the roadmap.
