The flag of India is a horizontal tricolor of India saffron, white and India green, with a navy-blue Ashok Chakra at its centre. The saffron colour signifies courage and sacrifice, the green colour stands for faith and fertility, and the white colour indicates peace and truth. The national flag was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India on 22 July 1947.
