The ‘unsinkable' RMS Titanic was the largest passenger ship of its time when it set sail for its maiden voyage in 1912. On April 15th, 1912, the Titanic struck an iceberg, and sunk beneath the waves of the cold North Atlantic, claiming the lives of over 1,500 passengers.
