Murugan, also known as Subrahmanya or Skanda, is a Hindu divine warrior god, the son of Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati. He is the commander of the divine forces and the guardian of the righteous, and is believed to possess many powers and abilities. He is often shown playing a flute and carrying a weapons such as a spear or a spear-like weapon known as a Vel. He is the god of courage, adventure, and war, and holds a special place in the hearts of those who venerate him.
