The Birth of Venus is a painting by the Italian Renaissance artist Sandro Botticelli, also known as Alessandro di Mariano di Vanni Filipepi. It depicts the goddess Venus arriving at the shore after her birth, when she emerges from the sea as an adult goddess and is blow dried by Zephyr and the other gods of the wind.
