Process up to 200 images per job — pick your settings once, run them all.
Drop an image, see every piece of metadata embedded in it. Camera model and lens, exposure settings, GPS coordinates with map preview, timestamps, software used to edit, copyright info — everything that's hiding behind the pixels.
Why look at EXIF
- Photography curiosity. "What lens did they use? What aperture?" The EXIF tells you.
- Privacy audit. See what metadata your phone is leaking before you post.
- Forensic investigation. Verify that a photo wasn't edited (some software leaves traces in metadata).
- Date verification. Confirm when a photo was actually taken.
What we show
- EXIF (camera-set): camera, lens, settings, original timestamp.
- GPS: coordinates with embedded map preview if present.
- IPTC (photographer-set): title, caption, keywords, copyright.
- XMP (software-set): editing history (Lightroom, Photoshop), star ratings, sidecar metadata.
- ICC colour profile: embedded colour-space.
- Maker notes: camera-specific extras (Canon, Nikon, Sony all have proprietary tags).
If you want to strip what you find
Use EXIF Stripper to remove everything, or GPS Stripper for location only.
Privacy
Everything happens server-side. Uploads are deleted within 24 hours and never used for training. The metadata report is shown to you only.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between EXIF, IPTC, and XMP?
EXIF: camera-set technical data. IPTC: photographer-set caption/copyright. XMP: software-set, including editing history.
Why does my phone photo have GPS?
Phones embed location by default unless you've disabled it. Many users don't realise.
Does it work on RAW files?
Yes — Canon CR2/CR3, Nikon NEF, Sony ARW, etc.
What about screenshot metadata?
Screenshots have minimal EXIF but may contain device info.
Can I export the metadata report?
Yes — download as JSON or CSV.
Maximum file size?
25 MB.
Does it work on PDFs?
PDFs have their own metadata — we don't currently support PDFs in this tool.
Are uploads private?
Yes — deleted within 24 hours.
